31 Day New Beginnings Meditation Challenge Week Five!
Welcome to the 31-Day New Beginnings Meditation Challenge.
Are you ready to bring peace and harmony to your life? It's our final week!
This meditation challenge is split into 4 weeks. Each week is a new themed meditation focus. Since we all have different preferences, current lives, and different needs, we will add a variety of meditation techniques to the challenge.
You can follow each blog post (one per week of the challenge) for details, or join the virtual community of women who are participating in the challenge. Together we will build our best meditation habits and practice in order to continue meditating throughout our lives.
It's our last week of meditation.
We have just 3 days left of this month that initiated a new year and a new beginning for us. Each moment is a new opportunity to grow closer to the person that you long to be. Hope that, like my, you have enjoyed these mediation experiences. You have grown more mindful and have cultivated a meditation practice of your own that you can use throughout your entire life. Meditation literally reshapes the brain. It creates new connections called synapses that foster happiness, wisdom, patience, and love. Take a moment and thank yourself for giving yourself this gift.
These last 3 days we will practice a challenging, but rewarding meditation technique called walking meditation.
It's best to practice this meditation outdoors in a quiet area. IT can be in your backyard or on a nature trail. You can also do the meditation in your home. All it takes is that you shift your consciousness to your walking. Walk with mindfulness of every single movement. Think of your muscles in your feet, ankle, leg, and thigh. Consciously feel the air pass over your legs as they stride forward. Notice your weight shift from one leg to the other. As you move, the air surrounding your body is touching you. How does this feel? Open your consciousness to space, sounds, sights, colors and other movements around you. Expand your senses.
This month you have been focusing on your single breath, a single sound, or a single thought, but now instead of watching one bird sing, open your eyes and all your senses to the entire forest in which the bird resides.
Use the meditation audios as a guide in the group to practice longer 20-minute walking meditations. You'll then begin to create the complete mindfulness experience yourself.
