My battle with eczema, makeup, and allergies. Here’s how I won.
Your body is always speaking to you.
An outward sign of discomfort or unpleasantness usually means that there's internal imbalance.
I will tell you my story.
I grew up in a small town in SC. For the first approximately 8 years of my life, we lived on a dirt road. My grandfather had chickens; my neighbors had a farm (with a cow – that I don't remember), and my grandmother cooked and baked like we owned a soul food restaurant.
We would have fatback for breakfast. We would eat french fries that we boiled in hot vegetable grease every Saturday while we watched Soul Train. We would have cake with red dye no. 40 and cheese doodles with my cousins on our birthdays.
But eventually, I had to pay a price .
I shared a post today that read "It takes courage to endure the sharp pains of self-discovery."
That is what is happening to you when you realize you are suffering, really from a preventable dis-ease.
I finally said enough is enough.
I know what is hurting me, and I have the power to do something about it.
I cannot let others hinder my health just to fit in or be seen as socially acceptable, cool, sexy, or whatever.
There were an imbalance and toxic buildup in my body from years of only eating for survival instead of eating for life.
If you want to know more about emotional eating – I discussed it in my Sisterhood group, after this talk.
Your body is always detoxing – that's why you may hear people argue that you don't need to detox because it is already doing it.
This is true, but you do need to detox because of bioaccumulation of pollutants, and because we are exposed to so many toxins on a daily basis, the amount you are putting in outweighs the amount that is being removed.
So then this imbalance occurs – we have subtle changes that fester, and fester, and linger until you are then suffering from acne, rashes, bloating, thinning hair, brittle nails, poor eyesight, lack of memory, or low energy – these are outward signs that your body is telling you...
Something is wrong here!
Listen to my emotional discussion on FB Live here:
The solution to smelling good is NOT the latest perfume!
The solution to not having bad breath is not toxic fluoride toothpaste! (which by the way actually impair your pineal gland, which the most dangerous of it's effects)
The solution to looking beautiful is not toxic makeup and lotions with chemicals.
It is eating a diet high in green leafy vegetables. And it is also using those same plants to put on outside your body.
Chlorophyll is a natural deodorizer! I'll never forget, my mentor – Dr. Llaila Afrika says that his deodorant was his diet!
I went 32 years without wearing makeup – partially because I was too allergic. Now I can because I have done to work to balance my body, but am I going back to using the very stuff that made me sick in the first place – NO!
So what is the takeaway here?
If you want to know more about not just what imbalances are, how they led to chronic disease, even what to do, but instead you want to CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
